Moisson Rive-Sud relies on generous agri-food suppliers, local producers, and partners who offer goods and foodstuffs free of charge to the vulnerable population of the Montérégie region through our invaluable member organizations.
Moisson Rive-Sud equitably redistributes the goods and foodstuffs it receives, tailoring service according to the needs of the vulnerable population of the Montérégie.
All goods and foodstuffs are received, sorted, and redistributed from our distribution centre in Boucherville. Moisson Rive-Sud has the necessary infrastructure, including a refrigeration and freezing room, to handle and temporarily store the foodstuffs received according to the MAPAQ’s hygiene, health, and food safety regulations.
Thanks to generous agri-food suppliers, local producers, and partners, Moisson Rive-Sud contributes to sustainable development by collecting, recycling, and redistributing foodstuffs and surpluses on our territory.
As the provincial partner and primary food bank in the Montérégie region, Moisson Rive-Sud is a major contributor to food security, facilitating the realization of the mission of our accredited organizations in our network.
As a member of Food Banks of Quebec, and a proud partner of Food Banks Canada, Moisson Rive-Sud benefits from advantages related to projects or partnerships that take the form of financial donations and the sharing of foodstuffs.
Supermarket Recovery Program
The Supermarket Recovery Program (SRP) offers a sustainable solution to the problems of waste, waste management, and food insecurity thanks to the generous collaboration of the three major grocery chains:
Métro and Super C | Loblaws, Provigo and Maxi | Sobey’s and IGA
This generosity of grocers is growing day-by-day and is spreading to other large retail chains such as Walmart and Costco. The SRP is a win-win: it eliminates the losses in the supermarkets and assists vulnerable people by providing them with edible foodstuffs.
